I am so excited to share with you an O-Wool & Lillian Jackson Textiles collaborative design project!
Jackie of Lillian Jackson Textiles is a Philadelphia-based machine knit designer. Her designs are simple, feminine, and easy-to-wear. Small elegant details are created with the most thoughtful placement of short rows. She uses sustainable, organic and mill-end materials for her production pieces. I have been coveting her aesthetic sensibilities since we met in a textile design grad program 8 years ago. Somehow I *finally* convinced Jackie to publish hand knitting patterns, and am so lucky she chose O-Wool to work with! We have been test knitting and tweaking numbers for many weeks and are so proud to share her introductory hand-knitting design collection. These three designs can be worn a wide variety of ways, and are completely reversible. You will enjoy the easy knitting, and the interspersed short rows will keep your interest. But you will LOVE to wear the finished piece. LOVE. I know it. I'll admit I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to short rows. I can follow the directions and work through them successfully, but I don't really understand how to design with them. I knit the Petal Wrap and Petal Scarf samples and I think these projects are beautiful introductions to short rows for novices. You can find the patterns up on O-Wool.com and on Ravelry. The patterns are available individually for $5 each or $12 for the collection of three. You can come see the samples *IN PERSON* at the New York State Sheep & Wool Festival this weekend. I will have the samples, the patterns and the yarns! ![]() Petal Wrap DESIGNER: Jacqueline Kilmartin, Lillian Jackson Textiles
